Joe's journey to the Goodlife
IN a joint pact with his partner to lose 'baby-fat' and 'father-fat', Joe Taurima kick-started his healthier and happier life.
"We wanted to be the best we could be for our kids - and it's paid off!” he said.
"We are all a happy and active family.”
Three years ago the 35-year-old Plant operator stepped food inside Goodlife Health Clubs Rockhampton and has not looked back.
"I started at 115kg, I'm now 92kg,” Joe said.
"I definitely feel physically and mentally healthier, but also have a lot more energy.
"Of course there were hard times - particularly when I worked away, that was a big struggle.
"But the members and staff are some of the best people you'll come across.”
Today Joe continues his fitness journey at Goodlife Health Clubs and is involved with a program at the centre with his partner.
"We're currently working a program with Lachlan Large who's been a big help in our lives over the past three years from when we first started,” he said.
"I believe anyone can make the change for a healthier version of themselves, they've just got to start. One of the best parts of our experience here at the centre is meeting other people like ourselves who have similar goals - it's a great supportive network.”
Goodlife Health Clubs Rockhampton club general manager Levi Malamoo and his team have a strong focus of inspiring people to be their best while living a healthy and active lifestyle.
"The benefits of getting active are a number of things, but overall its main benefit is to help look over number one - you! We also now provide 24/7 access for our members as well as a Hypoxi Studio.”
