Join the dance revolution with CQ Physie & Dance

CQ Physie & Dance is excited about their upcoming competitions and showcase performance. The club are rehearsing their routines and polishing their performances for the exciting opportunities ahead.
Physical Culture, or "Physie" for short, is a well-established dance sport in Australia. Loved for over 120 years, since it began, Physie has had a recent reinvention and revival. The dance sport, for girls and women of all ages, incorporates elements of modern dance, ballet, gymnastics and Pilates. Set to the latest music, Physie movements and routines are great for building core strength, flexibility, co-ordination and posture.
The local CQ Physie & Dance club is under the leadership of Odette Sheppard, an experienced dance teacher and APDA judge. With teachers, Jess Sheppard and Hannah Clunes-Parcell, Odette oversees the range of classes and students as they learn the APDA syllabus. Competitions are optional and the focus is centred on fun and developing individual self-confidence.
On Sunday 6th of November the club will be show casing their amazing routines at the CQ Wedding Expo. There will be demonstrations of the different competition routines and performances of the club's own dance, choreographed by the students and teachers. See it all for yourselves at the Rockhampton Showgrounds from 10am.
Several of the club members are competing at the National Qualifiers in Brisbane over the weekend of 28th-30th of October, Finalists will get the opportunity to compete at the National Championships held at the Sydney Opera House later in November.
CQ Physie & Dance meets every Thursday at Yeppoon State High School Hall during school terms - join in the fun!
