Jump into holiday fun
SUSAN O’Donnell’s three children reckon she is the world’s best mum.
When the Easter holidays arrive, Esther, 6, Isabella, 5, and Joe, 3, can stay up as late as they like.
And it is a win-win for Susan and her kids.
“I like not having the rush on the holidays and I let them stay up late and watch movies and they wake up later,” Ms O’Donnell laughed.
“I like my sleep.”
Yesterday, Susan treated her girls to a fun-filled morning of slides and vegemite sandwiches at The Crazy Joker.
Owner Shelley Osborne said up to 300 children had come through her unique cafe and indoor playground yesterday.
“School holidays are always crazy and the rain makes it even busier,” Ms Osborne said.
But for parents who wish to avoid hundreds of screaming children, Rockhampton has a lot on offer that does not involve kilograms of chocolate or confectionery Easter eggs these Easter holidays.
From painting at the Rockhampton Art Gallery, steam tram rides at Archer Park Rail Museum, karaoke, to Easter markets for the whole family to enjoy, there is plenty to keep those busy little bees amused.
Otherwise take a few tips from Susan.
“I take them to the movies, or to the pool,” she said.
“We’ll probably go camping on the weekend; I think to Five Rocks.”
