Jury to deliberate Leiske murder

A JURY will deliberate today to decide if Steven Roy Turner is guilty of murdering Nicole Leiske in Rockhampton.

Justice Duncan McMeekin will finish giving directions to the jury in the Rockhampton Supreme Court before the jury retires to decide on a verdict.

It is alleged Turner, 34, killed Ms Leiske after tying her arms with zip ties and gagging her mouth on February 5, 2005.

Turner has pleaded not guilty to murder but admitted he dumped Ms Leiske's body in a dry creek bed at The Caves.

Turner told the court he was having bondage sex with Ms Leiske, 32, and left her tied up at his house as part of the sex act.

He claims when he returned home he found Ms Leiske dead and panicked, which was why he dumped her body.

Police discovered her skeleton two months later, which was so decomposed a pathologist could not determine a cause of death.

It is alleged that while he was in prison, Turner told inmates that after he found Ms Leiske dead, he super glued her eyelids shut.
