Juvenile charged over break-ins

3.15pm: A JUVENILE has been charged and another cautioned for breaking into 30 vehicles in Yeppoon this year.

On April 29 and 30, they allegedly broke into or entered 18 vehicles in the Cooee Bay area - with the majority of the cars unlocked.

The rest of their alleged offending occurred at different times this year.

Electrical equipment such as laptop computers were recovered by police and returned to owners.

The 16-year-old Yeppoon male who was charged faces 10 counts of entering a vehicle to commit and indictable offence and will appear in Yeppoon Children’s Court at a later date.

The other 16-year-old was cautioned by police for 20 counts of entering a vehicle to commit an indictable offence.

The teens were also both charged with breaking and entering a boat at Wattle Grove, Cooee Bay, where marine equipment was stolen.
