Kabra Hotel back open this morning after seven months
FOR Joe Lidster, the Kabra Hotel just isn't a business.
It's a place where you hear stories from all different walks of life, have fun with your mates, and get to know people.
Joe, who runs the hotel, is keen to open the doors this morning after it closed in October last year.
The hotel has undergone refurbishments and is ready for local patrons to come back to their watering hole.
"We're excited to open the hotel again," Joe said.
"A small community needs their hotel; it's the employment opportunity for younger people, a watering hole, a place to catch up and have food and there are friendly faces."
Joe, who's been in the hospitality industry for most of her life, couldn't be happier to re-open the pub for the small town.
And despite managing businesses in Central Queensland and the Northern Territory, Joe said she's had butterflies in the lead-up to the hotel's reopening.
"Everything has come together and it's been great." she said.
Joe, who is originally from the area, said she can't wait to see locals back and enjoying the premises.
"We've had locals missing (the hotel); the phone hasn't stopped ringing," Joe said.
"It's the local's hotel, and they're the ones who make it."
The Kabra Hotel is back, better than ever and open for business from 10am today.
