Motorbike crash victim 'made most of every day'

A COMMUNITY is in mourning after the tragic death of Roma woman Kathryn Johnson.

Ms Johnson, who was killed while riding her motorbike last week north-west of Toowoomba, was laid to rest yesterday in the Garden City. She was 54.

Described as a "Jill of all trades" because of her numerous jobs and high skill set, Kathryn was remembered for her loving nature and passion for horse and motorbike riding.

Her husband, Richard, who was married to Kathryn for 24 years, said her spirit was infectious to the people around her.

"Kathryn had the knack of being able to engage with almost anyone around a point of common interest," he said.

"Because her interests were so diverse that meant she got to know a lot of people. And by that I mean getting to know them as a friend."

Growing up in a family of girls, Kathryn's sister Linda said people could tell she loved people and animals.

"Kathryn cared about the people in her life whether they were there daily or weekly or whether they popped in and out of her life over the years," she said.

Richard said his wife was an amazing woman who was taken from the world far too soon.

"We all should take some comfort in knowing that she did not just live life - Kathryn grabbed life by the throat and made the most of every day.

"She fitted more into her 54 years than most people would fit into several lifetimes."
