Kathryn's shoes fit like a glove

A BUDERIM woman's shoe invention has been "doing wonders" for the nursing profession around Australia.

Barani Jane is a 100% Italian leather slip-on invented by online shoe saleswoman Kathryn Lawrence.

The experienced shoe retailer spent 20 years researching and developing the range, aimed at helping working women avoid painful foot problems associated with long hours standing.

Mrs Lawrence said more than 350 Barani Jane shoes had already been sold since the launch last month.

"Customers say they fit like a glove and are doing wonders for their posture," she said.

"They kept saying to me that they just couldn't find a shoe that they could rely on for comfort, support and durability.

"My shoe is all of those things and more, because I have spent the time to perfect it and research it over many, many years."

Those years were spent in her Mooloolaba and Maroochydore retail stores, For the Love of Shoes.

"You could say that it was in my blood because Dad was also in the shoe industry for 50 or so years," she said.

"I think I just got sick of hearing people say they could not find the right shoe, so I decided to make one myself."
