Knife drama at Stockland

A 17-YEAR-OLD allegedly pulled out a pocket knife when he was kicked in the groin by a female at Stockland Rockhampton on the weekend.

Rockhampton Police Duty Sergeant Mac Duus said the incident allegedly occurred at the bottom of an escalator at 12.26pm on Saturday.

The female, who was known to the man, used the shopping centre security’s mobile phone to call police who found the man.

Sgt Duus said the man claimed he was sitting near the bottom of the escalator when the female kicked him in the groin and he “lost the plot”.

He was issued with a notice to appear in the Rockhampton Children’s Court next month for possession of a knife in a public place.

The female was unharmed.
