Knife pulled on taxi driver

A TAXI driver foiled an attempted armed robbery in North Rockhampton last night.

The driver was parked on the corner of Rockonia Road and Thozet Road in Koongal about 10.30pm when two men approached his car. One of the men drew a knife and demanded cash, but the driver fought back.

He attempted to grab the knife and force it from the attacker’s grasp. Eventually the cowardly assailants ran off, empty handed.

Police today confirmed that nothing was stolen and no-one injured during the incident.

Anyone with information about the attackers is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
