Know pool regulations as cyclone repair works are completed

LIVINGSTONE Shire Council is strongly encouraging property owners who undertake any repair work to damaged homes or pools after Cyclone Marcia to make sure the proper approvals are obtained.

Council's Community and Planning Services director Brett Bacon said property owners had a responsibility to ensure any new works or upgrades complied with State Government building regulations.

"By law, pool owners need to comply with strict heights and standards with regards to pool barriers, gates and signage and we urge them to assess any damage carefully and have it repaired as soon as possible," he said.
