Labor takes lead in poll

AN 18-year-old high school dropout, who has not even visited Gympie and lives in Brisbane, has somehow taken the lead in an online poll as the preferred State Government candidate for the seat of Gympie.

The Gympie Times asked all readers to vote for who they thought would win the election and Labor's Ben Parker led yesterday with 49% of the votes.

Sitting Member for Gympie David Gibson was coming second with 23% and Family First's Kathy Hawke came in with 13% of the vote.

With just two weeks left until polling day on Saturday, March 24, we plan to make the decision-making process even easier by asking the six candidates for the seat of Gympie, what you want to know.

Tell us your top issues and we will ask the candidates and print their answers in a special election edition of The Gympie Times.
