UPDATE 4.30PM: Lakes Creek Road was closed in both directions for a period of time this afternoon as crews worked to tow the Landcruiser out of the creek. 

Traffic was congested at the time but the road is believed to be back open again with no delays. 

BREAKING 12.05PM: A Landcruiser crashed into a ditch after a collision on Lakes Creek Rd, North Rockhampton this morning.

Emergency services are on the scene with ambulance officers treating the young driver after the accident happened about 11.15am.

His condition could not be confirmed but a friend who was passing said he believed he was suffering from shock.

The cause of the crash was unknown but at least one other vehicle at the scene had suffered minor damage.
