Landry honoured to take a seat as Deputy Speaker

FEDERAL Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry said she was honoured to take up her first shift in the Speaker's chair on the House of Representatives Deputy Speaker's roster in Federal Parliament last night.

Ms Landry, who has previously been rostered to chair duties in Parliament's second Federation Chamber, fulfilled her first shift on the Deputy Speaker's roster just prior to adjournment in the main House of Representatives Chamber.

"It is both a great honour and a personal milestone to be asked to take a shift as Deputy Speaker on the House of Representatives roster in the Australian parliament," the hard-working MP said.

Ms Landry delivered her maiden speech in Federal Parliament only 22 months ago.
