Lane 4 Aquatics scoops the pool to win tenders

AS THE temperature rises, so does the number of people attending public swimming pools across the region, which is good news for Ronan Foolkes.

Ronan is the Queensland facility manager at Lane 4 Aquatics, which has just received the contracts for all four swimming pools owned by Rockhampton Regional Council.

Lane 4 holds the lease for the Southside Memorial Pool and the Mt Morgan pool for the next 10 years; the lease for the Gracemere pool for the next five years and the northside pool for the next year.

Council put the swimming pools up for tender separately, but Lane 4 was successful for each. Lane 4 previously had a five-year lease for the south side pool. It managed the north side pool last season and the Mt Morgan pool for the past few seasons.

Ronan said it was exciting. It couldn't come at a better time, with excitement building over additions to the South Side Memorial Pool.

All four centres will open on September 20 with general admission set at $2 a person.
