Two accidents cause Bruce Hwy bedlam

UPDATE: A QUEENSLAND Ambulance spokesperson has confirmed that two separate accidents have occurred on the same stretch of the Bruce Highway this morning.

Both accidents were northbound, which is causing major delays on the highway.

Ambulance officers were called to the highway at 9.39am to treat two female patients after a traffic accident. The two women were transported to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.


Two patients were involved in a two-truck crash on the Bruce. QAS received calls at 10.06am. Both patients were transferred separately to Nambour Hospital.

EARLIER: THE BRUCE Highway has been plunged into traffic chaos after a multi-vehicle smash on the Sunshine Coast.

Two trucks have collided on the Bruce Highway at Tanawha, and are causing delays that are "backed up for kilometres."
Emergency crews are currently on site.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said that both northbound lanes are blocked, with the southbound lanes flowing as normal.

Police are currently on site directing traffic.

Emergency services and tow trucks are currently on-scene.
