Lauga backs Premier's decision to instantly dismiss Gordon

"The Premier dealt with it swiftly, handled it rationally, methodically and fairly," she said.

"The Premier wanted a government full of integrity and accountability…she is sending a message to Queensland that she truly believes in that."

Ms Lauga said the situation was disappointing to fellow members and the community.

"Everyone in the caucus is bitterly disappointed," she said.

"We work together, rely on each other, depend on each other…this has let us down, it is very disappointing…the indigenous community was celebrating his election, it's unfortunate it had to end this way."
