LETTER: Sweet fundraiser fights cruelty with cupcakes
THE launch of RSPCA Queensland's sweetest fundraising event of the year will see local animal lovers fighting cruelty with cupcakes.
They will bake, ice, sell and share dozens of cup cakes to raise funds for the thousands of sick, injured and neglected animals the organisation helps annually.
Cupcake Day for the RSPCA will officially take place next Monday, August 15 and the animal welfare organisation is calling on all Queensland animal lovers to shake off their aprons and grease their cupcake trays to help provide vital welfare services for animals across the state.
RSPCA Queensland spokesperson Michael Beatty said Cupcake Day was a fun way for animal lovers who wanted to help make a difference to raise much-needed funds for RSPCA Queensland's work.
"We are appealing to all Queenslanders who love animals to support us and the work we do by adding a little sweetness to their lives in August and registering for this year's Cupcake Day for the RSPCA,” Michael said.
"Cupcake Day for the RSPCA is all about baking, eating and most importantly raising funds to help us rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals each year.
"And to support us continue our vital work in the community by helping us to help all creatures great and small."
The concept for RSPCA's annual fundraiser Cupcake Day is simple.
Next Monday, August 15, or in fact on any day throughout the month, participants can hold a cupcake day event at their workplace, at home or with friends.
And every dollar raised goes to help animals in need.
