Life coach will pass on lessons

AFTER experiencing personal trauma in his life, Stephen Chong attended a self-improvement workshop to help deal with his troubles.

A training coach for over 25 years, Stephen said he had an epiphany during the workshop about the way he lived his life, and he has never looked back.

"That really changed my life," Stephen said.

"I have given up big corporate life."

Now he enjoys being able to work from home writing, sitting on a balcony surrounded by nature in a rainforest setting.

"It has been a complete change for me, more fulfilling."

For many, the New Year is all about making life changes just like Stephen did, be it career, health, relationships, financial or self-improvement.

Stephen aims to get people on the right path to doing just that when he visits the region this week to host his own workshops.

Now a life coach and author, Stephen has witnessed massive changes in people who had taken part in his workshops, which enabled them to move forward.

"I try to connect people with what is important to them."

Gaining the skills to deal with different issues and looking at things from a different perspective is part of what Stephen hopes people will be able to achieve.

"It is about realising your own potential, moving out of your comfort zone. There is no fear attached if it is in your heart to do and say."

During Mental Health Week in October 2011 Steven visited Rockhampton to present workshops and launch his second book, The Music of the Soul, which he will have available at this month's workshops.

It was due to the success of that first visit that he is returning to visit other areas in the region.

Stephen will present a motivational talk and book-signing at the Mount Morgan Library and another workshop at the Yeppoon Library this week.

"The workshops are really good for people having difficulties in relationships or life stuff."

Bookings for both workshops are essential. "Bring an open mind and a willingness to listen - I will do the rest."
