Yeppoon's Little stars shine brightest at national titles

YEPPOON'S Aussie Cheer and Dance made the Capricorn Coast proud after scooping up a national title in Melbourne last week.

The Tiny Twinkles cheerleading team won the nationals, taking out the competition against the other four teams by 5.5 marks.

Aussie Cheer and Dance principal Julie Tickner said it was great to see the little cheer girls collect the trophy.

"The kids really deserved to win this competition," she said.

"This team is a level one to six years and under squad so some of the little ones don't understand what they have won but they were very excited.

"All the parents and myself had tears running down our faces from the excitement of their achievement.

"In this routine the kids had to do certain tumbling skills and stunt skills, including making a pyramid and dancing.

"We are now starting to prepare for nationals 2016, which is held in the Gold Coast, which means we will be able to take more teams who qualify."

To celebrate the win, the team visited Santa at Myers and saw the Christmas Lego Tree in Federation Square.
