Local small business owners have say on shop local

THE region's small business owners will have the chance to share their thoughts on the importance of shop local at a Small Business Summit at Rockhampton this morning.

Capricorn Chamber of Commerce is looking to ascertain what small business owners' biggest issues are and strategies to address them, encompassing support from local councils, local and state politicians and government departments.

The breakfast will focus on a more targeted education campaign to make people aware of the need to shop locally and support local businesses.

It will address decreasing customer numbers, attracting new customers, improving profit margins, the power of advertising and the influence of the ecommerce market.

The networking event will foreground small business owners' thoughts on the need for a buy local campaign and aspects to support the region's economy.
