Loud retiree makes worst impression with new neighbours
HE MAY be a 60-year-old retiree, but he still knows how to cause a ruckus.
James Andrew Freemantle pleaded guilty in Maroochydore Magistrates Court yesterday to single counts of failure to comply with a noise abatement order and public nuisance.
After Freemantle finished watching the Broncos game at his Cotton Tree Parade home on September 9, he felt like kicking on.
As the night wore on, Freemantle continued to drink, getting so loud his new neighbours rang the police.
At 3am when the cops arrived they saw a group of people standing in the middle of the road - too scared to return to their units - and could hear Freemantle banging doors and swearing over his loud music.
Police gave him an order to be quiet for 96 hours, but an hour later they returned after further complaints and took away Freemantle's TV cords to stop him playing music.
Freemantle was fined $378 for each offence.
