Love of Coalition falls to 14-year low for WA in new poll
SUPPORT for the Federal Coalition in Western Australia has fallen to levels not seen since 2001.
Newspoll results published in The Australian newspaper today also indicated support for Prime Minister Tony Abbott has plunged 17 points in WA to 25 per cent over the first three months of the year.
The poll shows Government support has dropped six points to 38 per cent in Western Australia - a state seen as a Coalition stronghold.
Labor leads 54-46 on a two-party preferred basis in WA, overtaking the Coalition during the March quarter.
An unsuccessful leadership spill motion was brought by WA Liberal MPs Luke Simpkins and Don Randall during the period.
