Ludwig cant resurrect Waterpark

BILL Ludwig failed yesterday in his attempt to resurrect Waterpark Creek as the main water supply for the Capricorn Coast.

But he hoped that councillors might agree to stop pumping water from Rockhampton to the coast until the quality improves.

Councillors agreed to discuss the matter further at a workshop to investigate all the issues involved.

All the councillors representing coastal communities voted with Cr Ludwig in his attempt to revert to the Waterpark Creek supply.

Cr Glenda Mather said it was wrong not to use a pure water source when there were question marks over the suitability of the water being piped from Rockhampton.

Cr Ludwig said: "We have a situation where the coast could have better water today if you stop your bloody-mindedness."
