Ludwig too sick to attend planning committee meeting
COUNCILLOR Glenda Mather has criticised Bill Ludwig for his no-show at yesterday's planning and development committee meeting.
"I am disappointed," she said.
"It is the last planning committee meeting of the year and probably the biggest agenda we have had and the chairman is absent without reason.
"We are paid to be here and carry out our duties with this council until December 31."
"There were also two of the biggest applications relating to Livingstone that we've seen in the last six years."
Apologies were presented for Cr Ludwig and mayor Margaret Strelow.
After the meeting, Cr Tom Wyatt said Cr Ludwig had called him yesterday morning, asking him to put in an apology.
"He told me he wasn't feeling well and was in need of a break," Cr Wyatt said.
Deputy Mayor Cr Tony Williams chaired the meeting in Cr Ludwig's absence.
The Morning Bulletin contacted Cr Ludwig for a response, but he did not return the Bully's calls.
Cr Ludwig, Cr Mather and Cr Wyatt will all take positions on the de-amalgamated Livingstone Shire Council, which comes into effect on January 1, 2014.
Cr Ludwig was elected mayor, a position he held from 2000-08 before Livingstone Shire was amalgamated.
Cr Mather and Cr Wyatt topped the vote count in the 27-strong field of candidates who ran for the six councillor positions.
