Make a great start for one dollar

IT IS perhaps the cheapest shop ever listed for sale - at $1 it could be bought by collecting and recycling soft drink cans.

Electrical appliance retail store Retravision has traded since 1988 and is well positioned on Boat Harbour Dr and is sure to be snapped up quickly. They may even consider offers below the asking price, if buyers happen to find themselves a few cans short.

Pauline Laskowski, whose father started the store in 1988, said she got the idea after hearing of a Childers business that successfully sold at the bargain price.

"We've had a few inquiries this week. We've also had a few people come in and jokingly say they would give us 50 cents," she said.

"The main reason I'm selling is because I've had a very difficult year health-wise.

"We still have the Maryborough store and we will keep that."

The sale of $1 plus stock, fixtures and fittings, when successful, will signal the end of a long association with Hervey Bay. Ms Laskowski took over the store when her dad went on an overseas trip and had such a good time he decided not to return to work.

That was about 18 years ago, and now with a box full of memories and a bunch of new friends, it's time for Pauline to take her break and walk off into the sunset.

"I will miss all the people in the community I've got to know. We actually had an old couple come in the other day that had heard and were very upset," she said.

"But I have a family and look forward to spending some time with them."

Anyone interested in purchasing the store should contact Pauline at Retravision Hervey Bay.
