'What the f--- do you want?!' Man fined for expletive rant

IT is all about location, location, location.

But one Hervey Bay father had not received that memo when he went on an expletive riddled rant outside the Hervey Bay Police station in the early hours of a Sunday morning.

The words used are so offensive the Chronicle has chosen not to print what Lindsay Salam said during his diatribe at 1.40am on November 8.

Salam, 38, pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday to public nuisance and obstructing police.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Chris Elder said the rant was heard by police inside the station who saw Salam on Queens Rd walking towards the Beach House Hotel.

He said police retrieved a car from the station and followed Salam to the carpark of the pub where they saw him approach a group.

When at the carpark police heard Salam threaten the group and turned on their lights and sirens.

"He turned, put his arms in the air and yelled 'what the f*** do you want'," Sgt Elder said.

Defence lawyer Michael Riedel said Salam had recently reduced his alcohol intake.

"He hadn't drunk quite a while and hadn't been to a hotel for years," he said

"He was not dealing with his alcohol as well."

Magistrate Graeme Tatnell fined Salam $800.
