Man allegedly tells police officer 'I will f**k your wife'

A MAN, who allegedly threatened a Maryborough police officer and his family, has been allowed bail.

Christopher Joseph Forster, 23, fronted Maryborough Magistrates Court yesterday charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.

It was alleged he phoned the Maryborough police watch house and warned "your kids are f****d," and "I'm going to f**k your wife".

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Kath Stagoll said the comments were "felt as a threat" by the officer.

She said Forster had been convicted of a similar offence in May last year.

Defence lawyer Daniel Olds said his client "certainly admits it was a stupid thing to do... he had no intention of carrying it out".

Magistrate John Smith said he had contemplated refusing bail in order to demonstrate to Forster the alleged conduct was "unacceptable".

He told Forster that if he was arrested again for "anything involving a phone", bail would not be granted.

The case was adjourned until July 4.
