UPDATE: A 21-year-old Scarborough man will appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow after he allegedly fired a gun yesterday.
Police said the incident started about midday at a home in Wilsonton where the man fired shots into the air after a verbal altercation with two residents.
He then drove across Toowoomba to Kearneys Spring where he entered a home with two other occupants inside.
After locking down several streets in Kearneys Spring the police arrested the man about 12.45pm.
He is being charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs, two counts of driving without a license, possession of shortened firearms, discharge of a weapon in a public area and authority required to possess explosives.
EARLIER: Police have arrested a suspected gunman in Toowoomba after reports he had fired the weapon earlier today.
The man was arrested in Kearney St, Kearneys Spring about 12.45pm.
The incident started in Wilsonton after reports a man had fired a .22 calibre rifle. There are no reports of injuries.
It is believed he drove across to Toowoomba to Kearneys Spring where he entered a home. One other person was believed to be inside at the time.
Police had several streets in the suburb in lockdown for more than an hour.
BREAKING: A gunman is holed up inside a home in Toowoomba with police locking down several streets in the suburb of Kearneys Spring.
The incident unfolded about midday when a man armed with what is believed to be a .22 calibre rifle ran into a house in Kearney St.
It is believed the incident started in Wilsonton before the man drove to Kearneys Spring.
One other person is reported to be inside the house.
Police have cordoned off the street.
