Man arrested for biting off fingertip in carpark scuffle

A PERSON has been charged after allegedly biting off the fingertip of one man and assaulting another in Maroochydore late night Saturday.

A 39-year-old Buderim man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 25.

On Saturday about 11.15pm a man entered a carpark of a fast food store on Horton Parade where he approached two men.

An altercation began where the man has bitten-off the tip of one man's finger and  then assaulted the other man, causing injuries to his face and hand.

The man left on foot, along Horton Parade.

A 29-year-old man was taken to Nambour General Hospital for treatment of his injury and a 28-year-old man was treated at the scene.

A window at the entrance of the business was also damaged during the altercation.
