Man burnt in refuelling accident

A MAN in his 40s has received burns to 30% of his body after a refueling accident in Frenchville this morning.

Eyewitness and first responder Clayton Tiegs said he'd never seen anything like it.

He said said the man managed to take his shirt off and started to roll around on the ground, trying to extinguish the flames.

Mr Tiegs said he moved the burnt man up the road about 30 metres and got him to roll on the ground there, while he went and got a garden hose to hose him down, while calling Triple 0.

The incident occurred on Scully St at about 11.30am and the man has been taken to Rockhampton Hospital.
