Man charged after home invasion

8.30am: POLICE have charged a 33-year-old Frenchville man after an incident in Rockhampton yesterday.

Around 4.20pm, the man allegedly forced his way into an Ann Street residence and assaulted a 62-year-old man.

He then allegedly stole a quantity of prescription drugs before fleeing the scene on a motorbike.

Around 9.30pm, police executed a search warrant on a Suthers Avenue address where they allegedly located the motorbike and a number of drug-related items.

The man was charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent and robbery while armed.

He is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
