Man charged after Yeppoon glassing

POLICE have charged a man after a glassing incident at a Yeppoon hotel on Australia Day.

A 19-year-old man was allegedly glassed in the head by another 19-year-old after they were involved in a verbal argument, about 7.40pm, police said this afternoon.

The victim received a gash above the eye and was taken to Yeppoon Hospital.

The accused was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm while armed.

He is due to appear in Yeppoon Magistrates Court at a date to be fixed in March.
