Minden man remanded in custody over Comet stabbing

2.45pm: 41-YEAR-OLD Travis Northey of Minden is behind bars today, charged with attempted murder.

Northey made no application for bail when he appeared in court this morning.

He is remanded in custody and a committal hearing is set for March 26.

A 61-year-old man was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital last night with a serious stab wound to his neck.

He is in a stable condition this afternoon.

7.20am: A 61-YEAR-OLD man is in Blackwater Hospital after a 41-year-old man allegedly stabbed him in the neck at Comet yesterday.

Police are investigating the incident in and have charged the 41-year-old Minden man with attempted murder.

The Minden man has also been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and assault.

Around 5.40pm, police were called to the Blackwater Hospital after a man presented with a serious stab wound to his neck.

Preliminary investigations suggest the man was involved in an altercation with another man at an address on Tomlies Road, Comet around 5pm when he sustained the stab wound.

The Minden man is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
