Man allegedly tried to kill dad

A MAN charged with six counts of attempted murder, including one of attempting to kill his father, reappeared in court yesterday.

Chris Goulevitch, of Freshwater Point, wore a prison-issue uniform and sat in silence in the dock at the Mackay Magistrates' Court as a committal mention date was set for the case. For most of the 10 minutes or so Goulevitch was seated in the dock, he stared blankly straight ahead.

Goulevitch was yesterday represented in court by solicitor John Aberdeen, of Legal Aid Queensland, after he had successfully obtained Legal Aid funding.

A committal mention for Goulevitch was set down for July 12.

Goulevitch has been in custody since he was arrested by Sarina police officers on Wednesday, March 16. He was arrested following a series of incidents earlier that day. Police will allege that Goulevitch stabbed his father in the abdomen and chest about midday that day. They will also allege Goulevitch rammed a car into an ambulance vehicle and tried to kill two female family members and three ambulance officers.

On March 16, two female family members in the same house fled and the Queensland Ambulance Service was called.

Paramedics were attempting to put Goulevitch's father into an ambulance when Goulevitch allegedly rammed the vehicle.

Two female family members were treated for minor injuries at Sarina Hospital and Goulevitch's father underwent emergency surgery at Mackay Base Hospital.

It is expected police will alleged that Goulevitch had mental health issues and was not taking medication and was behaving erratically on the day in question.

The Mackay Magistrates' Court was told on March 22 that Goulevitch had been assessed by mental health authorities.

No application for bail was made yesterday, so Goulevitch was sent back into custody.
