Three charged with murder following Maroochydore assault

THREE men have been charged with murder following investigations into the death of a 45-year-old man in Maroochydore this morning.

It will be alleged the man sustained head injuries after being assaulted outside new Sunshine Plaza nightclub Factory: The Project about 3.10am.

The man was transported to Nambour General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A 24-year-old North Arm man and two 27-year-old men from Buderim and Coolum were each charged with one count of murder.

They will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.

Detectives are still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Sunshine Coast Police or Crime Stoppers.

The Facebook page for Factory: The Project said they were devastated by the news.

"The management and staff of Factory the Project would like to extend their sympathy to the family and friends of a patron who passed away after being involved in an alteration at Maroochydore's Sunshine Plaza Riverwalk last night," it read.

"We are devastated by the incident which occured after the venue closed."
