Man dies in marine incident at Lammermoor Beach

A BRISBANE man tragically lost his life in a boating accident at Lammermoor Beach yesterday.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the 51-year-old man jumped off a boat to anchor it at Lammermoor at about 12.30pm and when his family looked over moments later he was floating face down in the water. 

"Family members conducted CPR but the man was unable to be revived," the police spokesman said. 

"He was declared deceased at the scene. 

"We are unsure what happened at this stage - whether he hit his head or had a medical episode. 

"We are preparing a report for the coroner."
