Man suffered head and spinal injuries in Slade Point crash

UPDATE 8.30am:

The 28-year-old man is in a serious, but stable condition, a Townsville Hospital spokeswoman said this morning.

 

JUNE 12:

Police confirmed the 28-year-old Slade Point man was airlifted in a critical condition to Townsville Hospital with head and spinal injuries.

 

JUNE 11:

A man was transported to Mackay Base Hospital by QAS after a crash at Slade Point.

A police spokesman said they were called to the single-vehicle crash where the car had collided with a power pole at the intersection of Slade Point Rd and Finch St about 11.36pm Thursday.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said the man was trapped in the vehicle for a short time.

They left the scene by 12.30am.
