Man hit by truck on the Bruce Hwy dies in hospital

THE MAN hit by a truck on the Bruce Highway has died.

Police have confirmed that the man passed away overnight as a result of his injuries.

The man, aged in his 30s, was walking along the Bruce Highway at Chevallum when he was hit by the b-double truck just after 10.30am yesterday.

The man was hit on the northbound side of the highway, near the Nambour Connection Road off ramp.

A Queensland Ambulance officer told the Daily that the truck was going at full speed when the man was hit.

The man suffered critical, significant injuries throughout his body, and died within an hour of the crash.

Police have confirmed that the death is non-suspicious.
