Man hits cow at 100kmh

8.20am: A ROCKHAMPTON man is recovering today after escaping with only minor injuries after his car hit a cow at 100kmh.

The 37-year-old was driving between Marlborough and Sarina last night when the car struck the animal about 60 kilometres south of Nebo.

Although the airbags of his car failed to activate, he was able to get out without help.

The RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter flew him to Mackay Hospital for x-rays and observation.
