Blackwater crash claims the life of 55-year-old man

UPDATE 9.30AM: A Queensland police spokesperson has provided further information regarding the death of a man involved in a two-vehicle traffic crash, about 30km south of Blackwater last night. 

The spokesperson said initial information suggests around 6pm, the motor cycle rider came off his bike after hitting a cow on Ardurad Road.

 

Whilst a number of witnesses were rendering first aid to the man he was struck by a four wheel drive travelling on the same road.

The 55-year-old male motorcycle rider died at the scene.

The male driver of the four wheel drive was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. 

BREAKING 6.15PM: Emergency services are responding to reports a man has been killed in a motorbike accident at a Blackwater mine site. 

Initial reports suggest a passerby found the man deceased on the side of the road near a motorbike and it appears he has crashed the motorbike before being run over by another vehicle.
