Man with knife steals handbag from home business

Police are investigating an armed robbery after a man walked into a home business with a knife yesterday.

Around 10.20am a man entered the business on Murray Lane and spoke to a female attendant before going through a door into the residence. The man then walked out.

A few minutes later he returned, walking through the business and into the residence where he picked up a handbag.

The man then threatened the attendant with a knife causing her to run to safety outside.

He then left the business with the handbag and was last seen running towards West St and into Cousins St.

The attendant was not physically harmed during the incident.

The man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, 165cm tall, of slim build with dark brown hair. He was wearing black trousers, a white jersey and a black hat.
