Man of speed revs for action

ROCKHAMPTON'S Glenn Boulter is the man of speed as he gears up for this weekend's speedway at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.

Boulter will compete in round four of the V8 AMCA national series on Saturday night when he takes to the track with 80 fellow drivers.

The feature event of the night is the Rocky Resort Formula 500 series.

While the popular Formula 500 vehicles will make their annual appearance, the V8 AMCA Nationals, Super Sedans, Fender Benders and Super Stockers will also be in action.

After three years competing in the V8 AMCA series, Boulter has high hopes for this season.

"My goal is to win the local championships, it will be tough but yeah I have a shot," he said.

Boulter is planning on having a good run this weekend as he looks to add a few extra points towards his championship tally.

"I've had a few good runs and a few bingles, but hopefully this week should be a good one," he said.

Boulter is like many other eager racers who are revving up their engines in preparation for Saturday's racing starting at 5.30pm.

"It should be a good event," he said.

Rockhampton Saloon Car Club president Brendan Doyle said yesterday that with no rain expected, all programmed races would be going ahead.

Like the organisers, Boulter will be keeping a wary eye on this weekend's forecast.
