Man racks up $44,000 SPER debts, no payments in 10 years

A MAN was sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended immediately for a public nuisance offence this morning. 

Adrian Kemp appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on a public nuisance offence but when his SPER debts were mentioned, Magistrate Michael O'Driscoll had no choice but to hand down a serious sentence. 

Kemp has accumulanted over $44,000 in SPER debt, the biggest Magistrate O'Driscoll has seen this year, and he has not paid a cent towards it in a decade.
