Man sought over punch on cabbie

POLICE are still looking for a man who assaulted a taxi driver at the Rockhampton train station on Monday night.

About 9.50pm, a man called a Yellow Cab to pick him up from an address in Murray St in south Rockhampton.

The cab driver transported the man to the south Rockhampton train station, a short distance up the road.

Acting Inspector Ben Carroll said when the taxi arrived at the station, the man became abusive.

Act Insp Carroll said the man then punched the cab driver, leaving him with facial swelling and bruising.

The man boarded a train to Cairns.

The offender is described as Caucasian, was wearing a baseball cap and had with him a blue blanket. If you have any information, call 1800 333 000.
