Man steals cash register in convenience store robbery

POLICE are investigating after a convenience store at North Ipswich was robbed on Sunday afternoon.

Around 3.50pm a car stopped outside the business at Holmes Street, Raymonds Hill, with one man entering the store whilst another remained in the vehicle.

The man who entered the store demanded money from the store attendant before grabbing the cash register and running back out to the car.

The car was last seen turning from Holmes Road onto Waterworks Rd at North Ipswich.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The man who took the register is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall and of average build.

He was wearing a white hooded jumper and had his face covered with a black balaclava.

The car is described as a white Holden Commodore utility.
