Man surrenders after 30 minute siege at Mt Morgan today

A man has surrendered to police after a 30 minute siege at Mt Morgan this afternoon.

A MAN was holed up in a house in Mt Morgan for about 30 minutes this afternoon.

Police were called to the house about 2pm when police were alerted by a member of the public that the man was inside the house.

A number of police attended the scene where the man was believed to be alone in the house.

One of the police inspectors at the home said that police would do their best to talk the
man out of the house without any injury to himself or police officers.

Police were unsure at the time if he was armed.

The house believed to be in Richards St, between James St (Burnett Highway) and
East St in Mt Morgan.

The man surrendered to police at 2.35pm and is now assisting police with their inquiries.
