Man survives hours stuck in crocodile-inhabited waters

A MAN was found near Ellis Beach on Saturday after he fell from his boat and spent several hours swimming in crocodile-inhabited water.

Around 12.30pm, police were advised that a vessel operating near Double Island was overdue, as it was expected to return at dawn.

A short time later, police were told that a man had been found just north of Ellis Beach.

"He spent several hours in the water before making it to shore," says a QPS statement.

"It appears the man had fallen off his boat and into the water and was unable to swim after it."

The man was assessed by paramedics and, although exhausted, did not require further attention.

The boat is yet to be located.
