Man who left scene of fatal crash on Bruce Hwy denied bail

UPDATE 3.19PM: IT WAS revealed in the Rockhampton Magistrate's Court this morning that accused man Glen Michael Robin Condon has a previous history of traffic incidents involving car crashes. 

The court heard Condon was charged for drug driving when involved in a traffic crash back in 2013 but was never convicted. 

Condon also has other charges to go ahead in the Magistrate's Court including unlawful possession of weapons and possession of a knife. 

 

 

A GYMPIE man charged for a fatal traffic crash at Koumala on April 10 will remain behind bars until June after appearing in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

Glen Michael Robin Condon is charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm and leaving the scene of an incident without obtaining help.

It will be alleged at about 4.45am on April 10, a van was travelling south on the Bruce Highway when a truck travelling behind it has struck the van.

The van left the road and hit a tree, a 59-year-old male passenger died at the scene.

He is scheduled to appear again in court on June 8.

This was the second time Condon has appeared in court requesting bail.
