Rescued hiker airlifted to Brisbane hospital

UPDATE: A MAN who suffered a fractured leg after falling down a Coast mountain this afternoon has been airlifted to Brisbane. 

Emergency services were called to Mt Tibrogargan about 12.20pm with paramedics attending to the man until he was stable enough to be loaded onto a rescue helicopter.    He and two crew members were transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital. 

UPDATE: A rescue helicopter is on stand-by to transfer a man who fell down a Coast mountain this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Mt Tibrogargan about 12.20pm to assist a man who's believed to have fractured his right leg.

Paramedics are currently attending to the man on the mountain and he's expected to be transfered onto a helicopter when he's stable.

INITIAL: A vertical rescue team is on scene at a notorious Coast mountain following reports a person has fallen.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service were called to Mt Tibrogargan about 12.20pm and are currently assessing the situation.

The Queensland Ambulance Service is also en route.
